Thanksgiving

I have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving holiday.  It has been a good year for me and I know that the blessing I am recieving are because of the temple and the choice I made to attend.  I have spent a great deal of time this weekend pondering the many blessings I have and thanking my Heavenly Father.

The five day weekend began with a wonderful surprise for me at school.  I recieved a balloon from the office at school that said, "Baby Girl" and "Congratulations."  I thought someone was playing a joke on me until I read the back that said.  "Congratulations Aunt Ang!  From Baby Zwygart."  Sarah and Chad then snuck into my classroom.  Sarah's little tummy was showing already.  I can't believe that she was able to keep this from me for 4 months already.  So on April 22, or somewhere close to that, I will be an aunt for the 5th time.  I LOVE IT!

Thanksgiving Day was a ton of fun too.  We went to the movies and then came home to play with the triplets and Tanner and get dinner ready.  Bryan was able to join us for our Thanksgiving dinner.  I am so thankful that I have such a wonderful man in my life.  We all ate way too much but it was so delicious.

After dinner of course we all had to have our naps.  Mom thought she was pretty funny when she took this pciture. Little did she know that this would be the first picture Bryan and I have taken together.  Don't let the picture fool you...he snores like and elephant!  Needless to say that Thanksgiving Day was amazing.

I had another first for this year, I braved the Black Friday sales!  So at the wee hour of 3:00 in the morning, I found myself freezing cold, in line to joing the crazy Holiday festivities.  I have been dying for a crockpot and a griddle (nothing like feeling old now).  Kohls just so happened to have a huge door buster sale on them.  I convinced the family to come and go shopping out in Nampa so everything was close and I had someone to stand in line while I shopped.  I did get my crockpot and my griddle for $10!  I am pretty excited about that.

My BSU Broncos played Nevada for the WAC title and another perfect season.  Sarah, Chad, Bryan and I were able to go.  Unfortunatly, the game was at 8:00 at night on the only night that it decided to rain this weekend.  It was a good excuse to cuddle with a guy to help keep me warm.  Despite the wet, soggy night we had a great time and the Bronco's won!

I am so thankful for my wonderful family that continues to love and support me in all I do.  I am so thankful to have a man in my life that treats me so well and that loves me unconditionally.  I am so thankful that I ahve a great job where I get to be with some amazing kids.  I am thankful that I work with such incredible human beings.  I am so thankful for my calling in Relief Society and for the opportunities I have to serve the women in my ward.  I am most thankful for my Savior and his atoning sacrifice for me.  And while I am very thankful for my many blessing the Lord has given me this year, Thanksgiving is over. Let Christmas begin!

Halloween

Who knew that October could have come and gone already!  It has absolutely flown by, but it has been a great one.  My recent date drought has come to end!  There is a guy in my singles ward that decided to ask me out.  It was kind of a surpise but I was excited.  On our first date he decided to take me to dinner and The Haunted World.  While we were in line for 45 minutes to get into the maze, we were continutally interupted by students in line behind us.  It only made the first date akwardness that much more akward.  Thank goodness they didn't scare him off; he is stil around and we are having a blast.

One night before Halloween, Bryan and I went to a costume shop looking for costumes ideas. Well I came across a Disney Princess pumpkin carving kit and couldn't help but think of my neice Aubrey!  So I just had to buy it for her.  Since I couldn't send it to her in time, I scanned them and emailed the to her; but I was able to reap the benefits myself.

Nothing like Disney Princesses and a holiday dedicated to chocolate!  Life is great!

Getting Old...And Realizing It!

I was in class the other day and the kids were talking with one another after their assignement was completed.  I should just stop listening to them, but I can't help it.  They saw me paying attention and had to invite me into the discussion.  Here is how the conversation went down:

Student:  Miss Hobson, how old are you?
Miss Hobson:  26.
Student:  What year where you born?  (Obviously learned how to do math from me too!)
Miss Hobson:  1982
Student:  Freak!  That is like, really old!  You lived through the 80's!  I was born in 1992, you are ten years older than me!
Miss Hobson:  Cool...(note the sarcasm here)
(Here comes my favorite part)
Student:  26 is not that old Miss Hobson, you are not old until you are 30.

They may think I am still young, but even at my age I am slammed in the face everyday with the fact that I am getting old quickly.  I am saying and thinking things that my mom would.  It's scary!  From boys wearing girl pants, to the eighties fashions coming back, me hating their music and how loud they play it, them thinking "2 legit, 2 legit 2 quit" comes from the movie Hot Rod, I have realized that maybe it is time to grow up and concider myself an adult.  27 here I come!

Funny Story

So, I have been doing some work for our Athletic Director to help him out. He had me running the volleyball match this week. I was pretty excited because I got a walkie-talkie and everything. We are playing Bishop Kelly, the school that I coached at for 5 years, so I was more than willing to step in a play such an integral part. The Varsity team was off the court warming up and I was walking around the corner to check the water for the teams. I felt my foot slip and everything went into slow motion. I felt a pop, then my hip slam into the gym floor, and a breeze up my skirt as it flew above my head. I laid there stunned for a minute before I could get up. I looked at the girls staring at me with the "did that really just happen" look. As I stood up I felt my ankle throbbing and then my head as I looked over into the distance and a few boys from my class were giving me a standing ovation! Awesome! I was somewhat reassured when one of the volleyball girls came over and said, "Don't worry coach, no one saw!" I guess you know you getting old when the embarrassment of falling on your face, skirt over your head, in a crowed gym doesn't bother you as much as an achy body for a week! Bring on 27!

New to This...

Okay...so I thought I would join the craze! This blogging thing is so foreign to me that I felt the need to know more about it. And what better way than to jump right in! I guess that I am a little jealous my siblings are keeping in better touch with our family so here I am!

This year has been such a crazy, exhausting, overwhelming, and surprisingly best year of my life. I have been so sick with everything but the Lord has given me so many other good things in my life that I can't help but thank him for the opportunities and blessings he has provided. After 2 rounds of strep throat, 2 sinus infections, mono--that lasted for 6 months, a tonsillectomy, and walking pneumonia, the doctors have finally found out what has been causing me to be so sick all year and turns out, it's a simple fix! Who knew a Vitamin D deficiency could cause all these problems!

Mom thought she was cute taking Post-op pictures!

I have been blessed to be able to attend the temple this year, serve in my singles ward Relief Society Presidency, and watch my friends and family grow in so many ways. He continues to lead and guide me and I am so grateful for those blessings.
Another school year is well underway. It is so hard for me to believe that I am in my third year of teaching. I feel so lucky to have found a profession that I love. Kuna High has been a good fit for me and I am finally feeling like I have an idea about what I am doing. I teach juniors and senior Language Arts. What an opportunity to get to know my students and help them as they are shaping their personalities and beliefs. As much as I love my job, it is the most exhausting experience I have ever been through. Sleep is something that I crave and just don't get enough of (maybe I am ready for my own children). But I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I have the greatest family in the world who continue to show me everyday, through their examples, how to be a better person. I am so thankful to the Lord for allowing me to be apart of this family. To my family, thank you for everything. I love you guys!
